Default Trying out new things

Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (8 handed)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
1 fold, UTG+1 calls, 1 fold, MP2 calls, 2 folds, SB raises, Hero calls, UTG+1 calls, MP2 calls.

I figured, if all the limpers came along for the ride, I was getting 7:1 on my call. Too loose in the bb or decent play.

Flop: (8 SB) J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (4 players)
SB bets, Hero raises, UTG+1 folds, MP2 folds, SB calls.

Jack high flop w/a flush draw, I thought there was a decent chance SB had overcards and with a draw flush draw on the board, I might have the best hand at the moment.

As Clarkmeister says "If the pot is big enough to call, you dont have to be right too often to make a rise wothwhile" So I raised in hopes of eliminating other drawing hands and possibly better 6s. Good raise or tossing away money?

Turn: (6 BB) 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, SB calls.

I though this was a good card for my hand b/c it didn't help sb.

River: (8 BB) A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
SB checks, Hero checks.

Final Pot: 8 BB
Main Pot: 8 BB, between SB and Hero.

Results to come....

I think this is fine on all streets. That river sucks. Would you have called if he bet?

Not sure. I don't think there's much I can beat at that point. I wasn't really sure how to play this hand or if I made the right plays at all. Just wanted to run it by some of the others

Hmm... for SB to raise, I suspect he has a big pair like 10-10.

I would have bet the river as well, hoping he'd finally take the hint and fold.

serling,

I do not imagine a Party 2/4 player folding a TT on the river. Not a chance. A hand like QKs, about the only hand the poster beat, is most likely not calling. He was correct to check and save a bet.

I agree with checking, since he checked....

You can't beat much, so saving a bet I would do here a lot....

Danger of check raise too, what are you going to do if that happens?

I think the flop raise is a great idea. If you are ahead, getting the other two players to fold really gives you the best chance to win the pot. Your little pair wlll hold up much better unimproved against one player rather than three.

I also think the turn bet is excellent, since that card is garbage. I think the river check is correct, as only better hands will call you here.

Nice hand.

SB had A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] and HHIG. I think it played well just got unlucky on the river.
