Why are people from Boston so cool?

I'm spending some time up here in MA right now, and it just seems like people up here are wicked cool, and legit. People from around here have a funny sense of humor, love their sports teams, and drink like fish. This place is awesome. The roads totally suck though.

Probably since, except for the bad roads/drivers, terrible weather and no Red Sox championships since 1918, this is the best place on the planet to live.

Edit: I left out a couple except fors. High taxes and crooked politicians. I think that's it though.

You're right about the taxes. But if you think politicians in MA are Crooked, take a look at what's going on with our neighors to the south. I was condisering moving to RI last year because you can still find affordable real-estate, I decided against it though once I learned about the political climate and the scandals they've got brewing there.

Buddy is just the tip of the Ice Berg. There are very few honest politicians in Rhode Island.

We have a great one brewing now, with the Governor vetoing the casino bill and the legislature about to override. Bottom line is he's afraid of losing the sweetheart deal with GTech and he just wants to stick it to Chief Thomas.

Kurn, you guys got Newport too. Wife and I spend one week every Summer there and this year it starts on Friday and as an added bonus found out the Tall Ships will be there!
