Default I played this like a total muppet!

Party Poker 2/4 nHold'em (10 handed) no reads not the loosest table, converter

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
UTG calls, UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 folds, MP1 calls, Hero calls, MP3 folds, CO folds, Button calls, SB completes, BB checks.

Flop: (7 SB) 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (7 players)
SB checks, BB checks, UTG bets, UTG+1 raises, MP1 folds, Hero calls, Button calls, SB calls, BB folds, UTG calls.
I think i should have raised here,to charge possible flush draws or str8 draws more,Since i have 2 8's the chance of anyone completing a str8 is small.also rasie to knock a few out

Turn: (8.50 BB) 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (5 players)
SB checks, UTG bets, UTG+1 folds, Hero calls, Button raises, SB folds, UTG calls, Hero calls.
Again what is the best way to play here?

River: (14.50 BB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players)
UTG bets, Hero folds, Button calls.
I hated the way i played this hand,I sem to have problems when i get trapped,i play chicken style

Final Pot: 16.50 BB
Main Pot: 16.50 BB, between Button and UTG. > Pot won by Button (16.50 BB).

Results in white below:
UTG shows 6d 5c (two pair, sevens and sixes).
Button shows 8d 7d (three of a kind, sevens).
Outcome: Button wins 16.50 BB.

I don't think you played this hand terrible. I think 3-betting is best on the flop but calling isn't terrible. After that the hand plays itself I think.

I don't think you want to be 3-betting here, the draw you are charging is your own. 88 is not looking good as 2nd pair after the flop is raised in front of you. I would be ignoring my pair and playing the OESD.

Why call the river? After the turn it's pretty sure to me that you are behind...

This is exactly how I'd play it.

BTW, there's no point to calling this river. The button's not folding and he has something that beats 88.

155:1 sure. He cold calls 2 on the flop and then raises the turn. It's either a draw or a 7. At worst, it's a 9, which still beats you.

So? You still beat close to nothing. It seems you think you win about 6% of the time. I think it's close to 2 or 3% probably even less.

Instead of just saying 15:1 and relying on the irrational "the pot is huge" logic, list some reasonable hands you beat which will be there more frequently than 15:1.
