correct odds for raising with flush draws

I've heard some posters say that with 2 opponents, if you flop a flush draw, it's okay to raise or checkraise. With my odds being about 4 to 1 against getting my flush by the turn, I'm wondering if this advice is flawed.

If it is flawed, do you have better advice?
