Too aggressive with AQs
Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t100 (6 handed) converter
BB (t1000) UTG (t4050) MP (t570) Hero (t850) Button (t870) SB (t660) Preflop: Hero is CO with Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. UTG folds, MP folds, Hero raises to t850 (All-In), Button folds, SB folds, BB calls t750. Flop: (t1750) 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players, 1 all-in) Turn: (t1750) T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players, 1 all-in) River: (t1750) K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players, 1 all-in) Final Pot: t1750 Main Pot: t1750 (t1750), between BB and Hero. > Pot won by BB (t1750). Results in white below: BB shows As Ac (two pair, aces and kings). Hero shows Qh Ah (one pair, kings). Outcome: BB wins t1750. I'm thinking that if I bet 3xBB I would have done much better here. But, 3xBB was almost 40% of my stack. I know I wouldn't have called an all-in with this hand. I would have either stolen the blinds or folded. So what do I do? Am I just being results oriented? |

Re: Too aggressive with AQs
I think you played it right. If you'd raised 3x BB and have been re-raised, i think it would have been wrong to fold it - their would be 1050-1150 in the pot (depending if the blinds did the reraising). Putting in your last 550 would be easy. Just unlucky.
