Default Strategy question

Ok, there is a player on the table who will call any raise from any position with suited connecters down to 87..any pp or an 2 face cards. willc alld own bets to the river with any draw or peice of flop but will NEVER raise (even with the nuts)

Two questions (please post limit and no limit answers)

1) Where do you want this player in realtion to you (left or right)
2) What is your general startegy against this plaer (what range of hands to you want to enter into a pot with this type of player)

you want him on your right, so you can isolate him when he limps, and so you have position on him. your strategy is simple against this type of player: bet when you have something and check when you don't

Default Re: Strategy question

You always want players on your right since you are always going to have better position on them.

Against these players play premium hands like AK, AQ suited, pockets, connectors. If you flop top pair keep jamming and let him draw or whatever. You'll make money in the long run. Like you said if he doesn't raise on the nut flush then that's good for you. That means you get a free check if there happens to be 3 suited cards on the flop/turn/river if for any reason you suspect he might have a flush. And even if you do bet, if he reraises you then that would be more than good enough of an informational that he made his flush.

Overall you'll make money off of this player because he is loose passive. You will win with top pairs because of better kickers, win when he doesn't make the draw, and win if you make the better draw.

Don't do anything fancy like check raising or trying to trap him if all he does is call.
