Default QJo in BB

Routine, right?

Here's my question: pretend the hand unfolded the same way, but CO and I exchanged places. That is, on the flop, SB bets, ex-CO folds, MP3 calls, and it's to me. This would be a value bet/free card opportunity, but would it be better just to call and keep my hand disguised, then value bet the turn instead unless a scary card* comes along in hopes of squeezing an extra BB out of SB and any callers between us, then check/fold the river unimproved?

* What cards are scary to me here? If I'm drawing to the straight in the situation described above, am I afraid enough of trip kings and a possible check-raise to refrain from such a value bet on the turn? I should probably check a club through, yes?
