Re: Hand the Fourth
Any read on button? Seems like he played this strangly to me. I'm guessing he has a monster and got scared of the flush, that said I play it same.

Re: Hand the Fourth
Good question. Button is fairly tight and seems to have above average skill for this limit.

Re: Hand the Fourth <RESULTS>
Yeah. I asked myself the same question after taking a look at the hh. The answer? Nothing that I can beat. Button flips over AQo and takes the pot.

Re: Hand the Fourth
I'm fairly new at all this hand analysis, so take my response with that in mind.
I would not have raised with a KQo from UTG. Seems a bit weak to me to be raising from such an early position (but others on this board have probably analyzed this and determined that it is the correct play). If I had the read on the button player (as you said) that he was tight AND above average skill... I probably would have folded when button raises me on the flop. But that would be the only things I would do differently. |

Re: Hand the Fourth
This table was awfully loose, but not on this particular hand. In my defense, my read on Button may not have been completely formed until after these hands were played. As I said, they are from a couple days ago so I'm not quite sure.
Any other opinions on the UTG raise with KQo? |

Re: Hand the Fourth
Any other opinions on the UTG raise with KQo?
I'll raise KQo in an unraised pot from any position in most typical games. In this particular instance, button's 3-bet preflop and subsequent 3-bet on the flop reveals information about his hand. It's both a strong enough hand to 3-bet preflop, and after the flop still strong enough to 3-bet. He doesn't seem to be afraid of the queen. I'd be worried about AA, KK, domination by AQ, or perhaps AKs in clubs. -b |
