Yeah, the turn bet does open the door for way too much posturing, as evidenced from my reply. I don't know that the bet is much better than marginal, but I think it's a far cry from "awful". But certainly there is no crime in taking the free card.

I 3 bet. He called. I whiffed on the river and bet. He folded.

I am not going to add anything to Coilean's analysis simply because I have nothing to add.

I do take Mike l's point though about the wisdom of my turn bet in the first place. If the flop bettor had been the turn checkraiser, I was probably a goner.

As for limping in with 75s that some have questioned, I think the hand is easily playable in the spot described (sorry, Dcfirths)

Heh, I have noticed in the past that we share a tendency to occassionally get grossly overextended in these steal/resteal situations. Whether this is a good thing or not, I'm not entirely sure . Sometimes it works out, and other times it can leave you feeling a bit sick to your stomach when they call the river and turn over their ace high or full house. But even if you get called it's still kind of fun to turn over your 7 high bust like it's the nuts and fill the confused moments it takes them to figure out that you have nothing with a smug Cheshire grin, although I guess that part's harder to pull off online .

Re: DcifrThs's point about playing the 75s preflop, I think his main point was that if you are playing the standard 3 or more simultaneous tables and getting 150 or more hands an hour, you may sometimes find yourself with too many balls to juggle at once when your preflop standards become this low. So, if after you had limped on this hand you were dealt AQs and then JJ on other tables, you would certainly become more prone to making mistakes in your play of all 3 hands. That was how I read it, anyway.

i swing back and forth in my pre flop play with respect to these guys i guess.

if im feeling confident and good and on my game i play them where id normally pass and vice versa. i probably give up money 'cause i feel 100% sure i can play them at least close enough to optimally to gain EV that it makes no sense passing them as you state.

in holdem, big cards hold up much more frequently that small cards.

Fold preflop. Fold on the flop. Fold on the turn. This is the pattern I see emerging

Seriously 75s is a pretty awful hand, and the flop isn't much help with only a gutshot and backdoor. Bail out!!

ps how are you doing at Party 15..?

Well, so far, I have been running real good on PP. But even when things return to norm, I should be earning a lot more than I ever did playing live poker. I doubt that I will ever voluntarily go back to playing in B&M casinos again on a regular basis.

I'll be back there within the next few weeks, mike. I'll let you know how you're doing and then we can go get some Pink's.

BTW, sounds like your plan to not play much poker and instead spend all your time outside enjoying the beautiful summer is going just swimmingly, eh?
