Boo for the call and not raising, or for being involved at all?

Expand his list of hands out, and you're still, at best slightly ahead. What's the worst non-pair a tight player is going to open raise with? KJ? A9? Sure, you have those dominated, but the rest he's ahead of you, and cold-calling lets the blinds in cheaper and leaves him in the driver's seat.

My preferences:

flodo
raise
call

As has been stated earlier in this thread, those decisions have some space between them.

Would you 3-bet with AQo? Or do you think I need at least AQs or AK to continue?

Yeah, I should've folded.

How about a solid aggressive player, as opposed to tight?

Yeah, no doubt I should have folded, and 99% of the time I do. We had been at this table together for an hour or more, and I just felt he was on a steal. I didn't think he had total junk, but I do wish I had more than AJ to play with.

Should've folded, and congratulated him if he did win on a steal.

I don't know. There's just some question to keep in mind when calling with potentially dominated hands: am I going to know if I'm ahead or behind? Am I going to win much if I'm ahead? What flop am I looking for (one that doesn't involve flopping trips or a boat)?

AQs and AK definitely. AQo is much closer than AJo. Probably, but I'd have to be pretty sure that he would in fact raise in this situation with a wider range.

charlie,
This might be a bit abstract, but whether you reraise preflop or not really depends on two things. 1)the stregnth of your hand (obviously), you never want call out a potential steal-raiser unless you have a playable hand which in this case, you certainly did. 2)what your opponent thinks of YOU. If indeed he's going for the steal-raise, your re-raise will definetly make him stop and think twice, especially if he thinks of you as a SOLID PLAYER who's familiar with the steal-raise play. Hope this helps, good luck.
