Default low limit stud @ foxwoods

Anyone played it? I'm planning on playing my first live stud game there in a couple weeks and am wondering how the competition is at the lower levels. Thanks.

Hello,

The competition is just as good as the 5-10,10-20, and even some 20-40 games..

By that I mean BAD

They spread 1-3 with no ante and 1-5 with a 50 cent ante
Structured betting stars at 5-10

Later,

CJ

Easy pickin's, and a lot of games to choose from. Even the $20/40 games were very soft the last time I was there. Now if I could have just stayed away from the $75/150 and the PLHE....

Just to clarify, if you have played a little stud, don't play 1-3. It's the equivalent of the .5-1 games online -- no ante + big rake = awful game. Play the 1-5 with a .50 ante instead -- awful players, you'd have to really work to lose in that game. The 5-10 players are slightly less insane, but still suck. That's as high as I play, but CJ tells me 10-20 isn't that different.

Good info but too late for me. I tried hard to get over there recently while on business (I was working at a retreat at the Mohegan Sun) but my client insisted I stay with them for dinner. They did make it worth my while to stay but I was looking forward to trying my hand for the first time at a B&M poker room and willing to play at much higher than my usual microlimit stakes for the experience.

If you're referring to Paradise as an example of this, I don't find that to be the case anymore. There are always at least a 2-3 loose-passive calling station games going on. They're not on the scale of Party but still quite profitable (although I grant those profits may not of interest to anyone but the microlimit folks).

Oh yeah, the .50-1 no ante online games can be very profitable in terms of BB/hr/100 hands as I recall. Just duller than a game with an ante cause you basically play tighter and look to play against the overly loose players or trap with your strong hands. The rake in the casino 1-3 makes the game much less profitable.
