Been awhile
I haven't posted anything in awhile. Took a bit of a break from poker, and now I'm getting back into it. I'll put my thoughts on this hand in a separate post, skip it if you don't want to be tainted.

My Thoughts
I think I probably played this fine (your thoughts might differ), but it got me thinking that maybe I have better options. Specifically, do you think the 3-bet on the flop is worthwhile? I had a thought that maybe just calling the flop raise, then betting out on the turn to see what happens might be better.
My reasoning is that if the button does have a 5, he'll either cap the flop or call it then raise the turn. And if he doesn't have the 5, I run a greater risk of him folding an inferior hand with the flop 3-bet. Also, say I do 3-bet the flop, and it comes back capped. Is that a definite fold (or call, then check-fold the turn)? If so, I think the 3-bet makes sense, but I'm not sure it is a definite fold. Am I nuts, or just thinking too much into a straightforward hand? |
