you can play any way you want at 6max, as long as you do it well, ie as long as you can read hands, pay attention to your opponents tilt factor/atyle, etc

I totally agree. I took like 6 months off from playing much poker because I didn't have time, and now am back to playing a lot and haven't been playing as well, so I'd love to see a starting hand guide to "get back to basics" I guess you could say, and then try and change up my play from there.

When people say this, I think they just mean that it would be difficult to explain well. A book like this could be written, but it would take a very good player who understands the fundamental concepts underlying his decisions and who doesn't mind sharing a lot of hard-earned information.

Basically, this is the type of stuff provided by 2+2's best books. This book has not been written yet, but it could be.

i definitely agree with you

im not sure i personally could explain hand reading, alot of what we do is based upon feel and experience

i stand my support of the freedom to create your own style and be rewarded for the effort, i think i did much better by going through the 6max adjustment process than by using a predetermined strategy

Pretend it's full ring. Pretend the first 3-4 people folded.

That's pretty much what I've been doing. I've experimented with different gears including extream aggression were I will raise preflop almost every hand, even with rubbish out of position. Then play a pot sized continuation bet almost every time. It's a hard act but lots of fun.
Anyone else play in this gear?
