Default Paragon casino trip report

They've started to deal NL on Friday nights only. Weird. 1-5 with 100-300 buy in. But, this was Saturday night, and they had 1 2-4 game going and 3 4-8 games going. No stud was dealt at all. There was a tournament of champions in Kinder the same night, so Marksville was pretty slow. They've up'd the comps to $8 for only 2 hours play, twice a day. And the Friday night 100+10/100 add-on NL tourney is now a 50+10/ 50 add-on NL tourney.

The 4-8 game...

God awful. Besides myself and 2 other 2+2ers, a pre-flop raise only meant 2 things, A's or K's. 2 players at the table were 100%ers, only sitting out hands when they took a bathroom break. Any raise from the 7 sheep on the flop or turn meant a monster. I saw countless fish "check it down" after the flop and show a flopped 2-pair, commenting that they feared trips.

A few hands (comments welcome)...

I'm in the CO with A K of [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] The usual 4-5 limpers to me, I raise, the blinds happily come along. Flop is A 8 5 rainbow. "Check to the raiser" (I heard that one MANY times tonight), I bet, the BB (a 100%er) raises to 8 going all-in, MP (the other 100%er) calls, the rest fold, I re-raise, and MP calls. Turn is 4 of something. Check to me, I bet, now MP c/raises me, I call. River is A. MP bets, I raise, he re-raises, I call and he turns over 4 4.

That hand, along with a few others, put me $200 in the hole in 2 hours. The 2 100%ers were tearing us new a$$holes on every hand. Then finally this hand comes up...

I'm dealt A 2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] on the button. Its a FAMILY POT as EVERYBODY (including the other 2+2ers) limp. The flop is 10 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
Someone early bets, its raised, re-raised, and I cap it. EIGHT see the turn (the 2+2ers both bailed on the flop). Turn is K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
An early position bet, a raise, re-raise, and I cap again. SIX see the river! HOLY CRAP BATMAN!
River is swwwweeeeeet! Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
I cap it again, and turn over the goods. One player flashes the rivered straight, another shows 2 pair, a few muck, and one shows a 10 3????

Anyway, I went up and down a bit, racked up after 4 1/2 hours up $231 and a nice meal. The drink service was slow, but the smoke-free room is a plus. Passive fish galore. Thanks for listening.

The river is total overkill if he plays like you say. Just call down the turn c/r. Hell, I might even fold TPTK if the guy is that passive.

I like trip/hand reports like this though - thanks!

Yea, I think I overplayed that river too. I love how he cold-called to bets on the flop with 2 outs!
