2 AKo on suited flops (ABS 1/2 full)
first off, yes I know this game is a rock garden and I'm leaving as soon as my bonuses clear.
here are the hands.. 9 handed, I'm MP1 with A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Pre-Flop: Call, Fold, I Raise, Fold, Fold, Fold, Fold, SB Calls, BB folds, Limper calls. Limper is 28.4/1.2/1.8/80 Flop (7 SB) Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] SB Checks, Limper Bets, I Fold, SB folds. I'm getting 8-1 but it's likely to be HU from here and I'd consider this a small pot, it's not looking good to draw. I have 7 clean outs all of which need to be discounted to about 5. That makes the situation marginal and given that I can be drawing dead or slim in the small pot I fold. thoughts on this? 9-handed, villian is same as limper from hand 1. I'm UTG with A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. Pre-Flop: I raise and it's folded to SB who calls, BB folds. Flop (2 players, 5 SB): 2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 10 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] SB bets, I raise with second nut FD, gutshot, and overs. Turn (4.5 BB): 7 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] SB bets, I call I don't like the stop and go but I have 9 outs to beat a non A high flopped flush and 3 more outs against top pair or two pair that he's donking to a non-club, plus the Aces and Kings if he has just top pair. getting 5.5-1 I peel. River (6.5 BB): J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] SB bets, I raise, SB calls. This card looks good for me and even better with no reraise. Am I missing anything here? any objections? thanks |

In my opinion, both of these hands are fine.

First hand: No opponent reads, so good fold
Second hand: Seems good. You may be dead at the river, but you have to bet/raise. |

Re: 2 AKo on suited flops (ABS 1/2 full)
I think a fold is good on hand 1. Any single club has a better draw.
I'd play hand 2 the same. I don't think a flopped flush is too likely. |

Re: 2 AKo on suited flops (ABS 1/2 full)
Both are fine, but in this case the stop and go is pretty good for you on a board like that.(Obviously a check would be better, since it gives you the freebie) It really signals a not so hot hand that didn't want to go to war on the flop, meaning there's a good chance spiking an Ace or King will win this, and the J definately will.

Re: 2 AKo on suited flops (ABS 1/2 full)
I agree with the other posters, I think hand 1 is a good excercise in counting outs.
We have a gutshot and two overs, that make 4+6 cards to improve. To make it simple I assume hte chance that someone have a made flush to 0, and that at least one of the players have a club to 1. It means that there are 3 of the 10 cards that improve our hand that make someone else an even better hand. We have 3 non club jacks and 4 non club A & K. If we make the straight we are good, and if we pair one of the overs there's a 50% chance we are good. This gives us 5 outs to win. Now, if we make our hand I guess we can collect at least 1,5 BB more which should be added to the current pot (implied odds), we are getting 11:1 which is a call with 5 outs. Please let me know if my thinking is correct. |
