If, for WHATEVER reason, you didn't 3-bet the flop, I would check this turn a lot. However, not 3-betting the flop is very very wrong. So just raise the flop like you did, and then lead out the turn.

Just bet, baby.

There's only one button you need for this hand, and it ain't the fold button.

I think it's closer to 50/50 bet or fold. (just kidding in case anyone didn't know)

Thanks for your help guys. I really appreciate the input. I didn't hate leading out but wanted to see if anyone could make a case for the c/r.

I think sometimes I am tempted to fall into the fancy player syndrome. I try and get too tricky. For a moment, I thought about calling the raise and check raising the turn no matter what (I am especially happy if a spade comes).

I just played a hand where I completed in SB with 55, made my set, checked with 8 players, assuming somebody would bet, but it got checked around! It was a rainbow flop, but I don't plan on doing that again...

note: checkraise generally works when you have a solid idea the vil is going to bet if you check.

the last play in this hand, you bet and he called, meaning you are now the lead.

if you check he is likely to check behind.

For all that were wondering, the buton cold-called 2 with K8 offsuit. I led out on the turn and he called. The river was a total blank and no help for him. I led out, and he called again.

Turn: Bet

If he has any flush draw he will call down or maybe even raise. You are ahead of any set and K/x will not put you on a flush but rather you protecting your hand.
