Default 10/20 NL variance

This isn't me but someone I am aquainted with who lost 50k in 1 week playing 10/20 NL. He played roughly 8 hours a day so let's say 56 hours total losing 25 buyins.

Is this up there with the worst or is this somewhat normal? Is it realistically possible to go through this kind of downswing without a chunk of it due to tilt?

I've never personally dropped 25 buy ins, but my buddy who's been doing this for 17 years has. And he's ULTRA tight 12/4

That was scary! You are a solid player. Was it your normal game or was tilt or anyhthing else distracting your play?

My personal worst is 8 buynis but that was at NL500.

Funny that this discussion comes up today. Not that I am proud about it, but I dropped 10 buyins playing 10/20 ultra tilt poker yesterday. Needless to say, I am still reeling. Ouch.....

pretty much my normal game. looking back on it, i might have lost a buy, maybe two on tiltish plays.

these games SH'd are not the cakewalk that alot of people on these boards seem to think they are.

with full games, a run like that would be pretty damn rare, but at the short tables, i have at least a 10 buy in downstreak once every 5-6wks id say.

i think 25 buy-ins playing your A game isn't going to happen very much. i'd be willing to bet that a good chunk of it (maybe up to 5 buyins?) was due to tilt/bad play.

my personal worst in these party games was something like 14 and i know i was tilting away some money too.
