Default Questionable call 4 way...

I cant find the hand history, so I will try to recreate this as best as I can.

50+5 SNG on Party

Stacks look like this

BB (hero) 4000
SB 3350
Button (Villain) 1900
UTG 750

blinds are 250/500
No reads, was multi tabling.

I have Kc 10h in the big blind, UTG folds, button (villain) goes all in, the SB folds.

It is 1400 for me to call, to win 2150. So im getting 1.5 to 1, which isnt great but not horrible either. I decide that winning this hand not only would immediately move me into the money, but give me a big enough chip advantage, and image advantage (they will be more hesitant to steal my blinds without some sort of hand), that it rules out any -EV this call might actually be. I will then have a stack of around 6000, and the ability to push the 2nd in chips around until the short stack is knocked out.

I havent done any ICM on this or anything, Im sure the numbers probably dont work out in my favor, my question is if my logic is totally off.

Another thing to note is the fact that If i lose the hand I will still be in great shape to make the money, with the short stack being practically all in with the blind next hand.

LOL. Well, I didn't play as Moonsugar v. you, I was Skooma.

My original point remains: IMO it is imperative to have an idea as to what kind of range the guy will push with here. I understand that since we multitable and since opps. adapt that we cannot be right all the time (or even exactly right very much at all) but it is crucial information. Against some people calling here costs you $10+, agaisnt others not calling costs $10+. You can memorize the equity value of various decisions but they all hinge on the cards your opp(s) will play. You gotta have an opinion as to the range...

The biggest problem here is that in most cases a typical opponent is going to tighten up quite a bit with the shortstack UTG. Even against a pretty loose opponent this is a bad call and most of the time hes going to have you in pretty bad shape. (SNG:PT shows he needs to be pushing with 26% of his hands to make the call correct ICM-wise)
