Default 20/40 fold top pair on river?

villan is a making the other players in this game money but he's not that horrible. He's reasonable pre flop and AF of 1 post flop.

20/40 5 handed

I open K9o on the button, BB calls.

KhJhTc

BB checks, I bet, BB calls.

7c

BB checks, I bet, BB calls.

5d

BB checks, I bet, BB raises, I...?

Okay, I'm getting a little less than 8.5:1, does anyone fold here?

What's wrong with you fish? Show some manners and respond.

I dont play 20/40... but isn't this the standard line to take in the BB when you think the AGGRESSIVE (you are 2+2, its a guess) button bets into top pair the whole way HU?

I bet the whole way and was raised on the river. I didn't finish the action. What's the standard line here? I really like bet / folding this river but I've been reprimanded in the past for thinking about folding top pair when it's one bet back to me on the river headsup in a biggish pot. Is this an exception?

Against that opponent I think this is a fold, just know that he will likely notice that you folded in such a situation (thus, this is a call if you have been folding a lot lately).

The way you describe it I call this every time (i'd want to be there and know how many hands you have for his AGG factor). Sure villain shows down random 2 pair, maybe 55, maybe 98 half the time here, but his play is also very consistent with someone chasing with with an A or Q in his hand the whole way. Calling all the way and river checkraising a board that is not draw scary is awkward at this limit (usually all players are going to quickly lead at a river they hit big on) so I have to call it.
