[ QUOTE ]
-- I mean he has to put you on a hand right? [/ QUOTE ] Yes, I know I've got a lot to learn. But... I could see myself 3bet A9s preflop here. Especially if I think Hero is raising simply because he's first in shorthanded. And that A and 9 on the flop just blinded me to the flush board, esp. w/hero didn't c/r me. And now he's trying to steal my pot on the turn. By god he's gonna pay now. Sad isn't it. I'm workin on it. |

Yeah, looking back at this, I would play a set and top 2 the same way as villian up until the river cap. I really don't think I'm making that cap ever without a flush, but that doesn't mean other people won't.

Thanks for everyones advice so far. I will fold this preflop from now on.
One thing I don't understand though, is the people saying to bet the flop here, expecting villian to raise. Obviously this is going to knock the BB out, surely we want him to stay in the hand and so the CR is more appropriate? This doesn't seem like a hand that needs protection? |

That third playing is getting out unless you has a big heart or an ace. If he has those, he's calling 2 bets, and then we also get to 3-bet. He might peel with a 9, but that's pretty inconsequential, as he isn't calling many more bets without a big heart, in which case revert to my first point.
