Default Should I have lost more or less money here?

$3/6 HE online game. I call TT in early position after one limper then 3 other limpers (2 of which had posted blinds behind me) before BB raises and 5 of us see the flop for 2 bets. Flop is T [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]3 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. Check, I bet and get 3 callers.

River is 7 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. Check, I bet, 2 callers, then get check raised. I reraise and all but one call.

River is 3 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. First to act bets, I raise, he reraises, etc. eventually capped. I am mildly surprised as I get shown 77.

After looking at the hand, I think my biggest mistake was not raising preflop. Does the possibility of quads inhibit anyone on the turn or river here from capping?

No. I assume you three-bet the river and your opponent capped?

I agree.

Correct. Thanks, that appears to be one vote that I should have lost more money on the hand.

I like your play, with the exception that I like to raise TT PF.

Beernutz,
That is certainly a tough question. My answer is no. I'm not Sklansky, but I know the odds are not good that it would happen. A very similar hand happened to me which I posted on 7/26 under "Would you play this different?". Check it out.

I feel you played correctly. I think you only need the opponent to have quads 25% of the time and you'll still profit. I think the BB was the eventual winner, right? Or someone that posted? He would have called your raise preflop with pocket sevens. That was not the deciding factor. The unlucky fact that you flopped a set was.

P.S. Without a doubt, I would have raised preflop with 10-10.

Raise pre-flop, but other than that you lost the most your opponent would let you and I can't imagine losing any less.

I would raise preflop to hope to isolate....but as far as slowing down...thats crazy...you had top boat...there is now way you can start fearing quads here.
