Nice hand. And this is fine in a live game against a loud LAG. Is it angle-shooting? In only the best possible way.

So, did the LAG turn over his hand? Did you insist that his hand be shown?

hahaha that's awesome

I don't knwo fi it's that smart because you embarrass him and probably cause him to tighten up for a while or maybe even leave, but for entertainment value it doesn't get any better than that

I don't see how it's angle shooting if you actually do check/raise. I do xxxx like this all the time at live games. I'll announce my cards to the table, announce my intentions, etc. But I never lie. So how is that angle shooting? You can argue that it's stupid and sure it is. But it's fun. I don't think it's in any way wrong as long as it's kept friendly and not xxxxing people off and as long as you never do it to intentionally deceive opponent(s).

I guess I am wondering what you gained by doing this.

It seems to me like pure showboating with no benefit to you whatsoever.

I don't believe that your declaration to checkraise is binding, since your only action when it is checked to you is to either bet or check. Claiming that you will later raise a potential bet is acting out of turn, and would likely be uninforceable.

Congratulations, though, on potentially being an annoying angle-shooter.

I love taking advantage of old nits like you in a good live game.

If He said Check Raise as an attempt to get a free card or induce others to check, then that would be a clear angle shoot.

[/ QUOTE ]

And how are the players in between the Hero and the LAG supposed to know Hero's actual intentions?

Why should hero care?

I'm not sure if Hero should care. I was responding to steamboatin's assertion that it is the intention behind Hero's action which determines whether or not it is an angleshoot.
