Why Theology?

Why do people love to talk about theology so much? I've never found religion to be much use to me at all. Why do a lot of people on this forum find the need to debate about a pretty meaningless topic, when there are much more interesting things to discuss?

I just don't get it. I mean, who cares, really.

Ok, fair enough. I was pretty drunk when I made the OP, so I probably came off like a dick.

My main point was that it was weird for a seemingly large number of atheist/agnostic types to be so engrossed by religious discussions.
