Re: QQ when AK flops
my flatmates refer to such flops as "an Anders"
EDIT. oh yeah, bet-fold the turn. |

Re: QQ when AK flops
One complication regarding a bet-fold line on this turn is that, by the time you're getting raised, you have the odds to draw to your set and gutshot outs, if you knew they were all good (and against a hand like, say, AT, they would be). I think you should fold to a raise if you bet the turn, but it's not exactly an easy fold and it will be incorrect against some hands Villain might raise with.
I think getting called on this flop is in itself a bad sign. There's a really good chance you're losing, and there's probably not such a good chance this opponent will fold a better pair. Your opponent is fairly passive, so if he just has a flush draw, I think there's a good chance he won't bet it if checked to. The same may be true for a hand like JT. I think he's probably got an ace or king, and the chances that he does go up when he actually bets the turn. Your line in this hand seems fine to me, really. |

Re: QQ when AK flops
i'd bet/call turn and fold river unimproved
-I'd be betting the turn, cuzz hey I got 3rd pair and he could be drawing... he may call some medium pair junk or gushot or 4... and checkfolding feels week as a mofo -If he raises turn....unless he is already straight or a queen straightens him, you have odds to see river for improvement. |

Re: QQ when AK flops
If he flat calls the turn and the river blanks, whats your usual river play vs this type of opponent?
Is it standard to bet/fold here or check/call? |
