Re: need wood for poker table in MA
Wouldn't 4x8 be better for a holdem style table? Not what you're looking for? I used to live in eastern MA but don't know anywhere specifically. Maybe just contact a local hardware store, or even HD or Lowe's, and maybe they can specially order you what you need.

Re: need wood for poker table in MA
I built a 6 ft round table and had to use 2 4 x 8 sheets. I am pretty sure you won't find 5 x 5 anywhere.

Re: need wood for poker table in MA
I had my table cut from sheets of MDF with a C & C machine from a custom cabinet shop. I used 4'x8', but was informed that they also have 5'x10'x1.5" MDF. They might have plywood in that size as well. The 1.5" thick makes for a great table if you are looking for more stability.
In short, look in the yellow pages for some cabinet makers...there are plenty of them. Also, the money spent having them cut it out with their C&C was well worth it. It cost me about $30 bucks more to do it that way (because the wood was cheaper), the cut could not be any more perfect, no dusty mess of MDF to clean up, and I probably saved about 2 weeks of my life by not inhaling the fine mist of MDF. -ropey |

Re: need wood for poker table in MA
look in phone book for a company with the word plywood in the title. Here locally there is a company called Plywood Company that sell every kind of ply under the sun. Also just look for a full service lumberyard. 5x5 plywood is gonna be pricey, most likely baltic(russian) birch. MDF is a cheaper alternative and is readily available in five foot goods.
