I totally agree !
It's just a great tool. Love the filtering tool.
My only complaint is that force watches doesn't work like it should.
Things I would like to see in future versions are more statistical info like aleo said and "OR" in the filter. (I know this would complicate the filter GUI but still, it would be really useful). Also it would be nice to be able to read directly how many first, second, third places you have.
I would just want to say thank you for a such a clean and helpful tool.

I think its a great tool. One small glitch i noticed was that if a tourney went over 60 min...like 68 min...it shows up as 8 min. I dont know what that does to the total hours played and the $/hour but thats the only thing I noticed and the not being able to shut down the comp without closing SNG Tracker completely.

Thx for a great tool Hood and I look forward to the next release.

Can you elaborate further?

I will endeavour to add in OR in the filter. I will also add in labels to the places bar graph so you can see your placement breakdown.

Hi Hood,

I have expressed my feelings about your SNG tracker elsewhere and in other threads, but to my knowledge, not directly to you yet.

This is a fantastic program. Since it's release, I have not used my old spreadsheet and when I compare the two, I think there is really no question which I prefer.

I understand that some others still use the spreadsheet, and I suppose that given SNG tracker's inability to impor tourneys from some sites, etc... this might make sense.

For someone like me, however, who only cares about my SNG results on the party sites, SNG tracker is far superior. The best thing is just how little effort I now put into record keeping. I have gone through some pretty long stretches without even looking at the tracker or my results. Much different than the old days of knowing your ROI after every set (though I suppose the spreadsheet does this also now if you use pokertracker).

[/ QUOTE ]

Thanks for the comments. To be honest, before this thread, I didn't think many found it useful. The positive comments throughout have certainly spurred me on to continue development.

As for importing from other sites - I've had an open offer on the site for people to send through hand histories from other sites, but haven't had any response. I would like to add in support for pokerstars and for multi-table sngs. I think I'll do a v0.2, then post a new request for HHs.

Until then, SNG tracker does support manual entry of items. It's a bit clunky at the moment but useable.

[ QUOTE ]

I really have to think that anyone who only plays party and still doesn't use the SNG tracker has not yet fully experimented with the filtering potential.

[/ QUOTE ]

To be fair, it's rather fiddely and confusing at the moment.

[ QUOTE ]

As far as any future suggestions, and things that I might like to see, I'd just be interested in a bit more statistical info, notably:

Standard Deviation
Confidence

Otherwise, nice work.

They're on the list.
Current planss on the next version are:

- Change the interface. I don't like the tabs any more, it gives a nasty flickering.
- Allow users to set up multiple handles. When checking through HHs it checks for all hands.
- Revamp the filtering. Add in support for OR filters.
- Fix current issues with closing down the software. Make the min-to-systray behaviour optional.
- Fix the time bug.
- Add on labels to the bar graph. Optionally switch this to a pie chart.
- Better handling of manual entries, including: remembering the last entry, ability to edit items, comments fields
- More overview stats (so it's up to date with your spreadsheet)

Any other (small) ideas please feel free to let me know here or through email.

One other bug I've run into that I don't think has been mentioned yet is that filtering by time doesn't seem to work -- it doesn't seem to like the format it's getting the time in (I can get the actual error message when I get home if this is indeed an as-yet-unknown problem). I'd like to be able to see what my results are by time of day (the old question about whether the games are tougher/tighter during the US daytime than at night), so while this isn't a major issue, it's something I wouldn't mind seeing fixed if you got around to looking at it.

That not withstanding, I love the program and I love not having to keep track of all of this data by hand (if I don't like what it's telling me, that's my fault ). Thank you for your work on it, and I look forward to future versions.

I think I've had one other report on this. Please send through any more details you have, I will check it out.

The problem with the forced watch is that it misses some tournies that haven't been added. It's seems(not sure) it only works correctly with the first watch in the list.
If I have the tracker running in the background while I play there is never any problem.

I'd like to be able to choose the .mdb file from Pokertracker to import, instead of having to either stick with the default database or rename the default database, then rename the file I want to import to the default name, import it, rename it back to its old name, and give the default database it's regular name back again. Whew!

That's a bit of a pain and I'm somehow always worried I'll screw something up somehow.
