cap then call a lead out on the turn or check behind then bet/call the river.

[/ QUOTE ]

If you cap the flop and he checks the turn, wouldn't you have to think you were ahead and bet the turn?

sorry, I check behind on the turn to induce a bluff on the river. if he checks the turn and bets the river I raise / call a 3-bet.

Miller says to do this against a thinking opponent. Without reads at 2/4 I would certainly bet the turn. at 3/6 I would consider checking or betting.

Edit: I'm at work and doing my best to write complete responses.

Good enough reason for me. I think this is a sometimes bet/sometimes check scenario.

This is a river bet. There are many other hand u can be up against. If u were 3 bet on the turn, then maybe not. But in this case you have to.

leading into the preflop capper, he either is looking for an excuse to give up early, or he is eager to raise. I'd rather not wait till I have to worry about QQ as well as AA to start the raising. not that I'm inherently against slow plays.

[/ QUOTE ]
This seems like results-oriented advice. On the flop, you have to think you are either dominated by AA or dominating any of the other 3-betting hands. You shouldn't be worrying that a 2- or 3- outer will counterfeit your hand. I also don't think you can narrow his holdings on the flop since a 3-bet only means he has a pair of JJ or better.

Personally, I think raising the flop is a good play for the simple reason that you're ahead most of the time and villian has shown he has a big hand so he's likely to 3-bet and let you get in 4-bets with the probable better hand.

Its a weird hand, you would think that an AA is going to 3-bet that turn considering the preflop action. Turns out he did have AA

when I'm heads up with KK and the guy shows no fear of me. capping the flop and betting/calling the rest of the way are pretty much automatic for me (barring some pretty weird ass flop). similarly when I 3-bet AK say from the blinds and it gets capped. I'm going to showdown, but for a little bit less, unless I hit good. these situations should be virtually automatic. my way I think I get plenty money in the pot without facing overly tough decisions on later streets. the whole plan is virtually locked as soon as he stands up to my pf action. he's got AA KK QQ JJ maybe TT. we'll see at the river.
