Laydown QQ preflop?
UB $10+1 super-satellite to Sunday $200+15
Blinds 15/30 (no where near bubble) Important chip counts: MP ~ 1500 Hero (CO) ~ 2000 Button ~ 3500 SB ~ 1500 MP raises the pot to 135, everyone folds to me. I'm CO holding QQ, I reraise to 450. Button min-reraises me to 765, SB moves all-in for about 1500. MP folds. Hero?? I had just stepped away from the computer for like 10 minutes, and really wasn't paying much attention while I was there so I had no reads. Thoughts? Eto... |

Re: Laydown QQ preflop?
It's a tough laydown, but I do it. The problem is that both the button and SB may call, and even when you're not facing AA or KK, you're looking at least at one AK, and another hand that could outdraw you. So you're hoping for a 60/40 advantage, and may havemuch the worst of it. You may soon be drawing to two outs if you call. It's wimpy to fold, but it has to be better to live for another play.

In a $10 event I probably make a crying call. One donkey probably has AT and the other one has pocket Tens.

Re: Laydown QQ preflop?
as tough as it is to lay down QQ, it's likely no good there and you aren't getting a very good price, only about 2:1
