Just keep track of As, Ks, 2s and 3s (and the number of cards left in the stub). Bet spreads only of 7 or greater.

I was interested once, and did some quick calculations and strategy things. Even had a very rudimentary counting system in the works. Then at one point, a few friends of mine from my homegames sat down and played. The game won. They lost. We never played again.
That said, what really interests me is how the skill level of other opponents could alter the expectation you have in this game. A problem I didn't think too hard about, except that worse opponents would tend to mean bigger pots in relation to the antes, which would mean you can push your edges more often. I would imagine seriously playing a homegame style of this with no loss/bet/pot cap would have an awesomely high session to session SD. |

this game brings back memories. i once lost a $40 pot once in HS playing HU with a tennis buddy of mine. ($0.25 antes) I want to polish up on my game so i can rock him. too bad i have not seen him in 7 years. |
