Continued Shut Downs
I have a 2yr old Toshiba Satellite 2455-S305. I have put a lot of mileage on it, but it is still in pretty good shape. I recently had a hard drive crash and had it replaced.
For about the last 3 weeks and occasionally before that, the computer just totally shuts down about once a night. Usually, it is while I have flopped full and someone is betting into me. Yesterday, it did this twice. Is this a fan/overheating issue? Any reco's would be helpful. Thanks, Kevin |

Re: Continued Shut Downs
A sure-fire way to determine if the issue is overheating is to leave the side cover off the box for a few days. If the Toshiba does not crash, you can be pretty sure that was the problem.
Make sure the fan is working properly and all areas are clean and free of dust. A larger or additional fan can usually be installed with little effort. Be sure the new harddrive was correctly installed and has room for airflow above and below. |

Re: Continued Shut Downs
take out the battery while you have it plugged in during use. that may help.
