anybody using quicken to track poker money/tax liability?
I just grabbed quicken for various other reasons and have realized it's almost as much fun as poker tracker (at least at first).
Anyway, I've made different cash accounts for each of the poker sites I have money in, and track where my money is etc. and how much I'm making. But, I can't figure out how to make my poker earnings category fit into taxes. The closest tax category I can find is misc. income - other, for which the description says specifically not to include gambling income (and it also doesn't seem to pop up anywhere in the tax planner). Does anybody use it for tax purposes? How do you have yours set up? |

How much was the software? and do you consider it useful to a poker player?

Re: anybody using quicken to track poker money/tax liability?
you can find it on ebay for like 10-15 bucks.
It's still pretty much a toy for me, as I'm a grad student and not entirely serious about my finances just yet. It won't do anything a well-maintained spreadsheet won't do, but it is a pretty slick way of keeping track of my various accounts. This hinges upon the fact that it is not yet a chore to enter my session information manually every night. |
