played my first live session of poker in about two months last night, so i'll post some hands

6/12 FANTASTIC table, couple of horrible 50+vpip players. i have a table image of a complete nit, as i've been card dead, but not that it matters anyways because nobody is probably paying attention to me because they suck so hard.

L1 = lucky fish on a rush, 50+vpip'er
L2 = decent postflop, but way too loose preflop
L3 = new guy who just short bought into the game.
L4 = decent conservative player, probably a small winner in this game

L1, L2, L3, L4 call. I call on the button with 6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]3 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. SB calls. BB checks. 7 to the flop for 7 small ones.

flop: T [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]4 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

SB checks. BB checks. L1 checks. L2 checks. L3 bets. L4 calls. I call. SB folds. BB folds. L1 calls. L2 calls.

turn: 9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

L1 checks. L2 checks. L3 bets $4 all in. L4 calls the $4. I complete to $12. L1 calls. L2 folds. L4 calls.

river: 8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

L1 checks. L4 checks. I check.

EDIT: I meant to make the river some "blank" card, I forgot what it was but it didn't give me a straight. My bad.

EDIT AGAIN: Yeah, I'm pretty sure it was an offsuit 8.

Did I misread the hand, or did you just check behind with the nuts?

no, he checked on the river... although i don't see how this is justified against donks that don't pay attention (even though no one is likely to miss the fact that our donk, here, checked behind the nuts on the river)

Alright, I get the river. Someone is going to have to see a hand, it's probably written in the rules posted on the wall somewhere.

However, why go aggro on the turn in a protected pot when presented a nice and cheap draw with some implied odds?

I absolutely can't think of one reason to complete that turn bet with L3 all in. Can you tell me what your thinking is there CDC?

how about the possibility that i have the best hand here? and to fold out the two guys behind me with 6 clean outs who would call for 4 bucks but not 12?

how about being able to show my hand down for 12 bucks rather than 16?
