Default Re: So what the hell happened?

Sorry guys.

I called the raise and the 9s just called.

On the river, the 9s checked. The low bet and I called, as did the 9s.

The 9s were 2 pair, 9s up. The low was just a low. My kings up took half the pot down.

I might have made the wrong play "mathematically", but I think the fact that the nines were dead and this guy banged on the dead nine gave me all the info I needed to know in order to play the hand out. It had the same smell as several of his previous hands in which he got very excited with 2 pair and tried to bully people out of the pot.

Honestly, I was more concered about the low being a flush. Maybe I should have respected that a bit more, but it worked out.

I wanted to see...

K-10-2 is one of the worse hands you can start in a stud 8 game

I find it somewhat surprising that he check-raised and then slowed down. If you really thought that that's how he might play it, then you did OK. I find that most folks who check-raise in that spot will follow through, though. I can see calling it down if it isn't going to be jammed. You still should have folded earlier. If I had played the hand the way he did up to that point, I would have shown you Sevens full.

Marco,

I'm well aware of this. Let me assure you, this hand would have been dumped had I not been the forced bet on 3rd.

The love I felt for the Kings on 4th was the big problem. I've since learned about the pain the paint brings !
