Default chip denomination recommendations, pls?

Hi all,

i've pretty excited as the warden/wife has signed off on some desert sands chips, so now i would like to get some recommendations re. the denominations. I'm going to do the buy 2 get 1 free deal so, 900 total chips.

typically, i have a very casual, socially motivated home game w/ usually btwn 5-8 people.

we play a mix of side games &, more recently, tourneys and i was wondering how this chip breakout seems:

side games: $20-25 buys (usually there'll be at most 3-4 reloads)
(400 chips)
$0.25 - 100 chips
$0.50 - 150 chips
$1.00 - 100 chips
$5.00 - 50 chips

tourneys (500 chips)
$25 - 200 chips
$100 - 200 chips
$500 - 50 chips
$1k - 50 chips

i figure a 60BB starting stack, but i've seen here where people aren't thrilled w/ small starting stacks. anyways, it'd be T3000, broken out like this:
$25 - 20 chips
$100 - 20 chips
$500 - 3 chips

experiences? thoughts? advice? tia!

I would get:

100 $0.25
200 $1
80 $5

that's $625 for a cash game so you could concievably have $50 max NLHE with 10 people... some cash would have to play during the night. I'd make it $20 bills only.

290 $25
170 $100
40 $500
20 $1000

maximum of 24 participants with $1500 starting stacks:
12 $25
7 $100
1 $500

You have enough color up chips to get rid of even the $100 chips late in the tournament. Obviously just double the stack to make it 12 people @ $3000 start. Having the starting stack fit exactly in racks makes the start of the tournament easier.

I made an openoffice spreadsheeet to figure this out, I'll email it to you if you PM me your address.

FYI, the above totals $4000...I start with $4000 starting chips also for Tourneys which works out to 40BB (starting blinds of 50/100). My blinds increase every 20 minutes, so if yours increase every 30 minutes you should still have a nice long tourney.
