PP 15/30 - AQ and TT
2 strange hands from last night.
Hand 1: I think I missed at least one BB here. Anyone capping the flop? I was hesitant to raise after the turn because the BB's lead screamed AT to me. Party Poker 15/30 Hold'em (8 handed) converter Preflop: Hero is MP1 with A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. 1 fold, UTG+1 calls, Hero raises, 3 folds, SB 3-bets, BB calls, UTG+1 folds, Hero calls. Final Pot: 13.50 BB Results in white below: BB has 6s Ac (one pair, aces). Hero has Ad Qh (one pair, aces). The checkraiser turned out to be VERY tricky and we went head to head on some bizarre hands later in the evening. Perhaps just check the turn? Re: PP 15/30 - AQ and TT
hand 2 is perfect. I can't fault calling down in hand 1.

Re: PP 15/30 - AQ and TT
You need some reads.
I don't think there is many different ways to play hand 1. If you choose to cap the flop you're not getting a worse hand to go to showdown with you. You're saving a small bet vs AK, AA, and 88. I'd even fold if a respected SB lead the turn after 3 betting. I don't know why you posted hand 2, there's really no other way to play it without a read. |

Re: PP 15/30 - AQ and TT
Would anyone rather check the turn? I think I have become so agressive that I almost always bet in LP.

Re: PP 15/30 - AQ and TT
Disclaimer: I read the results.
Hand 1. Nothing good can come from capping the flop. I call the turn as you did because SB might be getting tricky. After SB folds the turn, you definately call the river and you can think about raising the river if BB is the type to defend with any ace. Hand 2. With 2 overs and two callers my default is to check the turn. The board is draw heavy and you have a weak made hand, but two of them called the flop. Chances are one of them has you beat and you are drawing thin. I take the free card. |

Re: PP 15/30 - AQ and TT
You play good! Capping the flop on the first hand is wrong.

Checking the turn is o.k. too, even if you don't have a good read on your opponents.

Re: PP 15/30 - AQ and TT
Hand 1 is fine. If there is anywhere to raise, it's the river. Capping the flop is not a good idea.
Hand 2, checking the turn is fine. Betting is also fine. It's read dependent, but against unknown it doesn't matter too much either way. Most of the time you lose. |

Re: PP 15/30 - AQ and TT
Hand 1 is gut. Check the turn in hand 2 when you are going to make your set on the river. Actually, I think you played it fine.
