Default AA in the cutoff

$10 BB full Ring on Pokerroom, Table is faily tight for the 2 orbits I've been in.

Chip stacks:
Me: ~$675
Button: ~$1000
I picked up a pair of aces in the cutoff, one limper to me in mid position. I raise to $40, only the button calls.

Flop comes J 5 2 rainbow flop. I lead out for $75, button raises me to $250, what's my action? That's a good portion of my stack so I was thinking it was either a fold or all in situation. The only thing I could put him on would be an overpair (KK, QQ, possibly an AA) or a set. I didn't think he would do that with AJ but I don't know. The only thing I know about him is that he plays heads up on $100BB and is a winning player.

It's not a dangerous flop and it's rainbow so why would someone with position be raising you here with two pair or a set. All-in.

And since your raise came from late position he must think u could have a wide range of hands. Less reason for him to raise that big with a monster. And as the previous poster said, dont think he would move in with a set or 2 pair here. I would push!

If you dont move in now, would you decide to check raise all in no matter what card hits the turn? What if its another Jack?

Q J K are not good cards, correct?

still, might as well get a safe turn before you commit your stack, make him put it in as a huge dog instead of a slightly huge dog

or are we still CR'ing All in to these cards FSU?

I like a jack the least, Q the second least-play poker, K ick but whatever im still shoving

What if a Q, J, or K hit on the turn and the Villain pots it (putting Hero all -in) -

You're calling?

CRing any card here, although I would obviously like some better than others.

since he is playing much lower, he very well may be making a play with any two here, or could even have KK or QQ, as many top players like to get cute with these w/ position.

since he is a good higher player and we cant narrow down his hands much at all without a read or more info, I am CRing any card all in.

This is a pretty standard line, and a pretty good one against aggro players who think everyone is stealing. I would modify it slightly: if a face card hits on the turn, you can consider leading out and folding to a big raise.

check back to the original post, you prob. overlooked villian only started with a little more than 600.

he is commited on the flop by calling.

hell, i dont think i noticed he was that short either.

i dont think CRing here will happen, as villian will prob. just put him in.

eitherway though, id check the turn and let him bet it for me, as he might fold alot of hands if you move in on the turn.
