Default 6 max vs. full game

About a year ago I played a lot of 6 max and did really well. My basic strategy I took to it was the same as my full game. I am basically a rock with 17% VP$IP and 5% PFR. PT has me as tight aggresive/aggresive. I always did well but gave it up for STT and MTT's. Slowly getting back into ring games (full) and would like to know what strategey you use for these 6 max. It seems like they are wild as hell now and I cant losen up enough to EV+. Any strat. and tactics greatly appreciated. Basically what is the secret to the 6 max nowdays?

i play very well at 5-6 max tables.
the reason why is because you must drop your standards alot.
a crappy K-9 not worth a call in a full ring game is now worth a raise.(A-9,K-10,K-J, A-8 ETC.)
if your playing tight you will suffer.
the key is to see many hands with small or medium connectors- i.e.- 67 78 89 910 .
this is how i manage a good profit from these games.
your in the big blind alot more and must defend with any thing along these lines.
hope this helps you.

are you sure about this one? i think they are more suited to a loose 10 handed table.

I wouldn't *automatically* raise any of these hands in 6 max. Although each of them are, at times, raising hands, they are all at least somewhat dependant on position and game texture.

Correct to a point. It is still usually correct to be playing tighter than the majority of your opponents.

Wrong. 6 max and all shorthanded poker is way more about high cards and pairs than suited connectors. These should be played more like you would in full ring. In other words, if you can't get in cheaply from late position, muck 'em.

kdog, you give this guy a bit too much credit, because in your 3rd paragraph you refer to suited connectors.

He did not say suited and that is why I responded his advice was horrible.

My error for not double checking what I had written before posting. You are correct, the advice to play those cards is horrible.
