looks nice.
how much is the rent by the beach?

[/ QUOTE ]

Depends on how nice you want it and how many bedrooms and whatnot...

For my house its 4bd/2ba and I pay $570 for share the master bedroom, one pays $700 for his own room (small), and 4 pay $470 to share the small room.

I've heard anywhere from $900 for your own room and $700 a month to live in the same room w/ 2 other people.

Mostly I'd say you're gonna pay $450 for the [censored] ass ones to share a room, and $650 for the nice ones to share a room.

the cost sounds reasonable.

i could never the cost of living by the beach just because i dont enjoy it as much as other people. the weather is great though. i have always lived somewhat close to the beach but only visit it once or twice a year.

watching the sunset every day would cool when i am old and retired.

Arg, yes I was forgetting "the black tide"

As far as like main sports though, the closest we have to a good team is our womens basketball team.

I'm pretty sure I've been laid within 100 feet of your balcony.

Dammit. I should have gone to ucsb. I even went so far as to get accepted to UCSB CS PhD, but made some poor decisions afterwards.

The Black Tide is UCSB's claim to fame - for better or for worse.

When I was growing up back on the East coast, I remember hearing people bitching about how you got 10 months a year of sunny, windy weather. (I'm from Amherst, MA. My high school team plays real, real goot. We beat a bunch of college teams, although when we played Brown's team my senior year (they were #6 nationally at the time) we got pwn3d.) We did manage to win the national HS championship though, and our womens' varisity won it the next couple years as well.

It would've been fun to play the UCSB squad. Given the ass-handing-to we got from Brown, I can predict how the game would have gone, but it's still fun to play the best.

I attended UC Santa Barbara for a few semesters or quarters, can't remember. I left and transfered to Humboldt. Too many people in Santa Barbara and better smoke in Arcata, this was mid 70's. I think we paid under 300 for a decent 2 bedroom a few blocks from campus and tuition was 230. There was tar on the beach then and as far as sports UC Santa Barbara was a powerhouse in volley ball.
