I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I think Hanks' performance in Forrest Gump actually showed that he is a fine dramatic actor.
I really couldn't stand Philadelphia. I don't see any groundbreaking acting going on there. The Road To Perdition was good, but overhyped. He was good. Saving Private Ryan was a great movie, and he was very good in it. Castaway was a bad movie, but Hanks was really good in it. Big was his best movie. The Money Pit is only funny when the ciontractor is speeding away with I Gotta Be Me blaring on his car stereo. Standup was awful. I think he should have had his SAG card revoked for even making the movie You've Got Mail, as mercenary as it was to basically rewrite and remake Sleepless in Seattle and then actually put Meg Ryan in it with him. Blecch.

The Money Pit is only funny when the ciontractor is speeding away with I Gotta Be Me blaring on his car stereo.
If there's anything funnier than a turkey being shot out of the oven and across the estate and flying through the opposite window, i'd like to see it.
