So I'm guessing you think that the Colts going from a regulated dome with no wind into a 20-25 degree Gillette stadium, sloppy field, and possible snow on the way isn't going to be a factor?
If it weren't, there would be almost no such thing as home field advantage here.
If you don't think it's a factor, just go back to the tape of last year's AFC Championship

[/ QUOTE ]

Did I say it would not be a factor? And I don't have to go back to last year's championship game or this year's game because the story is the same. If Manning throws 4 picks again or James fumbles twice in the red zone then the Colts will lose. I do think this Indianapolis team has played in enough of these games the last couple of years to make the adjustments needed to get a win today. If I'm worng it won't be the first and most certainly won't be the last time. LOL.

And I'm amazed that you don't realize that these are highly trained and conditioned athletes and to think that they won't be able to perform because it's a little cold. I guess your common sense is just a little too common for me.

we are discussing the field conditions and how they affect both teams, one moreso than the other. your theory that the playing conditons would favor the colts recievers is absurd. they colts run a timing offense that is predicated on, of course, timing(which they have devolped playing mostly indoors and in rather good weather). how would ice, mud and wind favor them? A family friend, a state trooper, got to escort the Colts into Foxboro today. He said they were all really cocky, especially Vanderjagt. That can't do anything but hurt them.

Remember that when the Pats are sitting in the cheap seats after the game. Then you can offer an excuse as to why the infamous "ice strategy" did not work.

I don't trust anything an outsider has to say regarding a team's attitude.

Only insiders and the playets themselves can have any true indicators on this.

I've been associated with teams who had total humility and determination and did nothing but lose, and vice-versa....
i've also been associated with teams that have been nothing but cocky and did nothing but win, and vice-versa.

With all due respect to your friend, he may have been witnessing just general before-game excitement that may or not be relatively common-place to that team's personality.

Or, it's also possible that perhaps he was dead-on and the Colts were all full of themselves heading into this one.

But I don't think that the bus-drivers or state-trooper escorts or hotel desk-clerks who all seem to have opinions on this from single observations really have the psycholigcal expertise to know one way or another for the most part.
JMHO.

Hahah, it's so nice of the internet to save these funny colt fanboy comments for us.

But colt fanboys, not everyone can be happy. I'm a little irked myself. We could be playing the JETS next week! At home! And I'd be there! Awww...I guess I can deal with watching the pats beat up on the Steelers next week. Injured, away and FAVORED against a 15-1 team. And you guys thought Peyton and the good ol' boys could beat them in the snow at home. harharhar

Congrats to all the Pats fans, they played great and the Colts fell flat on their faces (again). Good luck getting to the Super Bowl.
