Default Recommended multi-player console games

As Christmas is approaching it's a time for sitting about getting drunk and playing video games.

What are the best multi-player games about? (Mainly PS2 games needed, although X-box and gamecube ones considered)

At the mo we mainly end up playing Pro-evo 4 [football game (Soccer)] and a bit of virtua tennis 2 - and maybe Mario Kart or even Goldeneye/Perfect Dark if we're feeling a bit retro/sentimental.

I'm guessing there are many quality games about that I've never played - anything that has 4-6 player action needed. Also games that females can play would be useful, they don't always appreciate watching a 4 hour footy tournament.

Cheers

Winning eleven soccer 7 (Yes, weird name)- The most accurate soccer simulation available. Makes FIFA look like a child's game.

Champions of Norrath. Somewhat geekish, but is by far my favorite non sports multiplayer of the last year (Hmmm). High replay value and very addictive.

I'll also second the previous poster's recommendation of Twisted Metal Black.

MarioKart in any of its incarnations is a hall-of-fame caliber game single or multi-player.

Bond is always good. I've got the latest one for the cube and it's pretty good. Pikmin 2 is a great game mostly single player, at least until you unlock the multi-player part, but it's decent multi-player too. Mario Party games are good if you've got kids/girls playing or if you're drunk.

Tiger Woods 2005
Time splitters 2

Isn't Winning Eleven 7 the same as Pro Evo 4?
