Default Bubble Play Question -- Push or Fold?

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t300 (4 handed) converter

BB (t3843)
UTG (t1333)
Button (t631)
Hero (t2193)

Preflop: Hero is SB with T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. Hero posts SB of 150, BB posts BB of 300.
UTG folds, Button folds, Hero ...

I feel like the only plays are to raise all in or fold. If I was short stacked, or if BB did not have me covered, I think this would be an easy push.

Note Button's short stack.

What's my play, push or fold?

Is the reason you ask because you would be more likely to push in a higher level SNG because you have more fold equity?

Yes. Easy push in any case, though.

Easy push. Hero's hand is 63% against a random hand, and you have some fold equity (although not much). Chances are, you are not going to see a better opportunity in a while.

OK, cool. I did push, BB called with AK, and I was knocked out 4th.

My follow up question is, around how many chips would Button need to have for my correct play to be fold? Something like 400?

Depends on your goal.

If you want to make it in the money, you could have just folded.

If you want to win, youll push, regardless of the Button's amount of chips.

can someone explain why pushing is preferable to say a 3xbb raise. Not criticizing play here (and if you had just raised BB would have probably pushed) i'm new to poker theory and am trying to patch some holes in my game because i don't think i could bring myself to push here.

Well I'm looking for the most +$EV play.

For SNGs the main priority is to finish in the money, because there isn't much difference between first and third place money, compared to an MTT.

In an MTT this is an easy push. But I think Button's stack size should definitely factor in this situation.
