Peppermill in Reno Tournament
I was looking at going to Reno for the Tournaments that Peppermill is offering the week before Thanksgiving. Buyins are reasonable and room rates are great. Anyone have feedback on the casino and pokerroom ?? How is the hotel ?? I can spend a week in Reno with Airfair cheaper than one day at the Foxwoods WPT. (Yes, I know they are far from comparable). Anyone else going ? Any info appreciated.

Re: Peppermill in Reno Tournament
Its a well-run tourney and the hotel is decent. The payoffs aren't great since the buy-ins are low!!!! I'll be there as much as my day job allows.

Re: Peppermill in Reno Tournament
The poker room is non smoking, But be prepaired to smell like an ash tray after a few hours. To me that room is very dark and small. Not my favorite place to play in Reno. It would take a very very good touramanet to attract my business.

Re: Peppermill in Reno Tournament
The tourney is usually held upstairs in one of the meeting rooms. You'll still smell like smoke, but not as bad as its more away from the main casino.

Re: Peppermill in Reno Tournament
i played in the peppermill's first day 200+20 buy in NL Tourney. the tourney was held upstairs in a big conference room (not downstairs in the dinky dark room). The tourney i played was very well run -- had about 225 entries. (top 18 spots paid and i busted out 22nd - i think first paid something like 14k.)
the peppermill is pretty nice -- id say the nicest casino in reno. its a bit bizarre when you first walk in because the entire place is done up in neon. seriously. its the oddest thing. but after 30 minutes or so you get used to it. another thing to consider is that it is about 8-10 miles from the "Strip" in reno. being so, if you cant find a good game in their card room, youll have to drive to cab-it to the other casinos. hope that helps some. |
