I hate not hitting a royal flush draw
i would consider leading out on the turn, but i think your play might be just as good. i think you played it fine

I think the re-raise on the flop is wrong. You need 14 solid outs to raise HU for value. You've got a pretty solid 13 outs, but it's probably not worth a re-raise.

yea folding the river is best.

btw. i dont' mind 3-betting your big draws heads up, as long as you're in position. 3-betting this out of position on the flop serves no purpose becasue you're either going to get capped or you're going to have to fire away again on the turn unimproved or you'll check and he'll bet and you'll call anyways. when you get raised on the flop, you should call, and that sets you up for some checkraising if you hit your hand.

in this particular case, in position, after 3 betting the flop, do you take the free card? I probably wouldnt, and I wonder what others do.

i'm not suggesting that 3-betting would be best, but if you were going to do it, you should do it in position so you do have that option of the free card/showdown.

why 3-betting might work sometimes.
a) get the free card on the turn if you so choose desire
- if you hit your flush on the river after checking the turn you may get bet into on the river and you can raise
b) if you bet turn, you might get him to fold right there on the turn
c) if you bet the turn, you can check behind for a free showdown.

amongst other things.

I know the odds are right for driving the flop and calling the turn. 9.75 BB to 1 at river, I would call it is possible but not likely that he could have something like T [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

If you going to make a play on the flop like that in micro-limits, you got to call more rivers.

I don't like the flop 3-bet against one opponent, you need 2 or more guaranteed callers to reraise this.

River fold is good.
