New WPT show - \"WPT Poker Corner\"
This is flashed on Big Slick News:
World Poker Tour to debut new strategy show on October 13th - to immediately follow regular WPT broadcasts...show will be called "WPT Poker Corner"... Will feature pros Daniel Negreanu, Annie Duke, and Phil Hellmuth with Mike Sexton giving unrehearsed analysis of Final Table situations from the just-aired show... Will act as a kind of "Baseball Tonight" for that night's poker action... Mike Sexton: "Players who are serious students of the game will enhance their own play with what they learn on WPT Poker Corner. Furthermore, watching WPT Poker Corner will offer viewers a completely different perspective into the WPT Championship." What no VVP strategy? |

Re: New WPT show - \"WPT Poker Corner\"
four respected pros...no doubt...(well, three respected pros and a fourth who is a great card player, if not widely respected due to table antics)
but the history between the three of them should make for some interesting disagreements.... Of course, I've never forgiven Mike Sexton for busting me out of my first major tourney 4 years ago...I'm gonna find that SOB and show him his AK is no match for my 99 someday. This probably will be more interesting than the event itself.

Negreanu: Yes, Sexton, it was! Sexton: Try that at home kids. |

[/ QUOTE ] I think this is a good idea. Not looking forward to Mr. Hellmuth whine but I guess I have to take the good with the bad. I am hoping the show will be done in such a way that it CAN be used as a learning tool, and not just 4 people in a room talking over each other. ~ [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]~ Queen Of Hearts ~ [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]~ |

Re: New WPT show - \"WPT Poker Corner\"
What's the over/under on how many minutes into the program we get before Hellmuth pats himself on the back and tells a story about how great of a player he is?
(I'm going with 3) |

Re: New WPT show - \"WPT Poker Corner\"
Who cares? Commentary about featured hands taken out of the context of all of the final table hands is meaningless, just like poker tournament coverage ingeneral.
The only really good coverage was the live coverage of the final table of the APC at Turning Stone this summer complete with as-it-happened commentary. I would like to see more of those. |
