Re: A Question for Christians
It's hard to "kind of" disprove something. Either it is disproved or it isn't.
How would this experiment have any bearing on whether we have souls? The faliure to transfer consciousness between...

Re: A Question for Christians
I'd say you are making a huge assumption in identifying the mind with the brain. If you're a materialist, the mind is a function of the entire body, not just the brain. Although the majority of...

Re: Facing flop donkbet with big draw
[ QUOTE ]
You mean, if you just call here you expect the BB to bet out when another diamond hits? When an ace hits?
Reasons to raise here:
(1) You just might have the best hand.
(2) You...

Re: Facing flop donkbet with big draw
Ok, this is surprising to me so I'll respond in detail.
The argument for raise is basically that we have enough outs that the raise is for value. There are some other reasons:
(1) We might be...

If you're so sure this is right, why are you posting?
Could you try to be a little more arrogant next time? That'd be really impressive.

4/8 6-Max Standard?
I guess the main questions are bet or check(-raise) the flop and should I give up at any point?
Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dumb have VPIPs of 67 and 46, respectively.

Re: Live 30/60 Hand
I agree 100%.
(1) Are you showdown committed?
(2) Given that folding on the flop isn't an option, do you call or raise (remember there is a third man the hand still)?
(3) If you call the flop do...

Re: Please evaluate my stats 5/10 (6 max)
My stats after 42k hands of 6-max (5/10 ->20/40)
VPIP 24
W$WSF 45
WTSD 34
W$ASD 56.9
(There's a clear problem in that I'm not going to showdown enough and I'm winning a little too often when I...

Re: Please evaluate my stats 5/10 (6 max)
This is a summary of what everyone else will tell you:
You are way too tight in every area.
You don't:
-Play enough hands
-Steal enough blinds
-Defend your big blind enough
-Go to showdown...

Um.. you're tighter in the hijack than UTG?
Anyways, as catt said, don't sweat the numbers like that. My personal feeling is that if you're trying to force yourself up to a higher vpip like that...

ooh, this is nice. Thanks.
There's clearly a lot going on here. If you have two people with the same vpip you can make a meaningful comparision between their CSD/CWSD, but does it make sense...

Einbert: give me your numbers, I'll give you some other numbers back, and you tell me why those other numbers wouldn't be better (or tell me that they aren't practically possible).

Yeah, it's pretty clear that in practical terms you can't get too much above 50% without folding the best hand a ton. You just can't have that good of a read on people. But if you could somehow see...

Propose a good w$asd number and a good wtsd number and tell me why a lower wtsd and a higher w$asd isn't better.

Re: stats (theory) question
Ok, sort of makes sense.
Let's see if this works.
See flop 20 times.
(1) sd: 0.35*20 = 7 w$asd: 7*0.55 = 3.85
(2) sd: 0.33*20 = 6.6 w$asd: 6.6*0.57 = 3.76

How? The don't adjust their play until he folds.
If the players are being open about it I don't think there is any problem. It is common practice and doesn't affect anyone but the two friends.
