Re: how much would you pay to have a pro look at your summary?

$0. Just because someone is a pro, doesn't mean they are a good teacher.

Re: Paradise Poker Bad Beats

If people are hitting inside straights the site must be rigged. Its the only logical conclusion.

Re: would you rather get 3rd or 10th

3rd = 82% ROI
10th = -100% ROI

Funny End To Step 1 (No Content)

This is the end of a Original Steps (step 1) tournament. We're down to two so we both win a freeroll to step 2. This guy apparently doesn't understand how steps work and keeps trying to play to win...

Re: Weekend vs Weeknight, what is fishier?

The biggest thing I noticed in waffle's data is the drop in # of 2+2 readers on the weekends. Probably safe to assume this correlates to less 2+2 players. Maybe this is why the weekends seem softer...

Re: Massive downswing sanity check - two tourney histories

As I said, this was just an example to illustrate my point. My 20% ROI is based on almost 1000 $11 SNGs. I wasn't making any claims about my talent or lack thereof.

Re: Massive downswing sanity check - two tourney histories

Maybe a bit off subject, but here it goes -

About a month ago I started tracking and calculating my ITM/ROI for each day individually. This has helped me mentally to weather bad runs. When I have...

Re: Don\'t the cash booby prizes affect actual cost for getting to a step5?

Good catch. With these improved odds I may have to take a stab at winning the $100K.

Re: Some \"higher\" STEPs math - APATHY IS CORRECT

Turns out I have been blowing smoke for the last few hours. Sure glad I spent all that time doing meaningless and incorrect calculations. See what beer deprivation can do to the brain?

Re: RESULTS!!!

I stand corrected. I worked through the S1 equation numerically and see how you get the 1/5 number. I have to assume the coefficients to all your other equations are correct as well. Did you use some...

Re: RESULTS!!!

I counted it. Its one of the 7 step down opportunities I accounted for. In actuality there are only 5 loop back spots in the structure. Not sure where I got the 7 from. (beer deprivation) I'll...

Re: RESULTS!!!

Let's make an estimate of the effect of these terms and see what the numbers show.

1) Take the effect of the step 1 re-rolls you get from step 2. Because of the large number of hands, this will be...

Re: RESULTS!!!

Not if you're talking about the average player. Each of those has a 10% chance of moving the player back up a level from where they went down to. Very small compared to the stuff I accounted for. I...

Re: Sklansky ranks AJs higher than AQo?

Re: RESULTS!!!

Not sure your math is correct. This is the way I look at it-

1) If the average player plays 10 step 4 they will win once, advancing to step 5. Four times, they will get a step 4 re-roll. Of those...

Re: Some \"higher\" STEPs math.

Probably true, but it would most likely take thousands of games and months, maybe years, of play before you actually reached level 5.
