In theory of poker Sklansky talks about odds to draw to a flush after the flop is 4 to 1. 9 outs and 37 non-outs.

Isnt it really 9 out of 47 which is closer to 5 to 1? I mean if i have 5 cards and...

Why isnt it 9 out of 47 which would be 1 in 5?

If i had 5 cups and you had to pick the one with the ball under it you would have a 1 in 5 shot not 1 in 4?
