Re: Bellagio $500+40 Hand

I ended up mucking the hand. Other than a set, the only hands I could really put either one on was a pair higher than 9 or A-9. The big blind and all-in raiser had each acted too strongly for me to...

Bellagio $500+40 Hand

Interested in thoughts on a hand I played in the Bellagio $500+$40 last Sunday. I've never posted a hand before but this one has gotten mixed reactions from other players I've talked with.

This...

Chicago Area Poker Rooms - Help

I'll be in the Chicago area for business next week. I'd appreciate any suggestions on the best card rooms in the area. I'll likely be playing a 4-8 or 5-10 HE game if that matters. Thanks for the...

Is Party Poker a safe place to play?

I am a long time PP player and have never had any problems or suspicions about the games on PP. I have other friends who are absolutely convinced that cheating is rampant on PP and PP is likely...

Re: 4 hands, 3 big slicks, 10th place

Overall, I'm pushing a little more with AK 1st level. Probably 75 to 90.

1st hand - Played well though I don't think you needed to push all-in to price him out of the flush. 300 would have done....

Re: KK hand for review

After some thinking, I see where you're coming from a little more clearly. You have a point, assuming you've made your decision to go broke with your Ks.

Re: KK hand for review

Villain is betting no matter what hand he has. Either he has an A or he thinks his pocket pairs are ahead. You didn't give yourself a chance for the villain to fold his pair to a bet.

I give up...

Re: KK hand for review

You're right.. if he has an A, you're toast whether you check, call, raise, whatever. If he doesn't have an A, checking makes this hand a whole lot harder than it needs to be.

Re: KK hand for review

Betting out at least represents the Ace and you give yourself a chance to win the hand right there. Checking of any kind shifts the power to the villain and now he's putting pressure on you even if...

Re: KK hand for review

Agree with Unarmed that a bet on the flop is a solid play here as well. You'll know ASAP if he's got the ace. Don't really like the c/r. Just gets more money into a pot you're likely behind.

Re: 88 level 2

Betting the flop and checking the turn when a 6 comes off? You were probably beat all along and you played it that way. Good news is you can walk away without too much damage.

Re: KK hand for review

B*tch of a flop. Personally, I push with KK preflop there though your big bet was solid. I think you get better value pushing because there are a LOT of flops you don't want to see and only a...

Re: KQo, a little post flop play

Agree with the consensus here.

Preflop - KQo is a tough hand to call a raise with out of position - even with your stack.

Post flop - possibly too much but I don't mind it. Morons aside, that...

Re: Some SNG Newbie questions

Interesting perspective as far as just calling. I probably don't call as often as I should but this just seems like an obvious push. I suppose the logic could be the end result is going to be the...

Re: Call here? Or how to play in general...

Agree with the other poster. Nothing wrong with completing and checking the flop was good, but you were clearly behind after a $90 bet and 2 callers. Should not have called the flop. The turn bet...

Re: Some SNG Newbie questions

All answers assume you're playing with solid players. Don't know what $ level you're playing.

Situation 1 is an easy fold. Hard to imagine you are ahead at that point. It is a huge overbet...

Still Steaming - Should I have called?

This hand knocked me out of the $200K PP tourney last Saturday. We were down to about 450 players and I was a bit above the chip average.

Full table. Blinds are around 75/150.
I'm in the small...
