Re: Loss and profit

I dislike questions like this. The person posing the question thinks he is clever by pointing out how people will make the "irrational" decision. The "correct" answer to questions like this is an...

Calling preflop raises with suited cards

I love just going along happily thinking I'm doing something correctly then reading something like this on here:

Chris Daddy Cool sez: "You should be folding ATs to raises..."

Re: Microlimits Progress Quest: Post plans/updates/setbacks here.

Since yesterday was my 4 month anniversary for starting to play online for money, I guess I will post my journey here.

March 17, 2004 was when I started with a $60 deposit into Party. Party...

Re: Interesting KK vs AJ hand

[ QUOTE ]
If I were player A, I would have bet the flop.

[/ QUOTE ]

Is this because of the third player in the hand? You want the preflop 3-bettor to raise to force the third guy to call...

Re: Should I have capped the river?

I never think my opponents have quads or straight flushes. I just pretend they don't exist and if they do turn out to have it, oh well. They deserve it. I think that I would lose too many bets over...

Re: buy in

I buy in for the standard 25BB most of the time. But like B Dids, I don't like the way my stack looks if I am down 10 BB so I rebuy if that happens. Sometimes, if I am losing at a table, I will keep...

Interesting KK vs AJ hand

I didn't play this hand, but it was interesting so I thought I would post it. I can't decide if these guys played their hands well or crazy.

(Don't have the hand history so forgive the formatting)...

Re: online poker players: an easy \"tell\"?

I was bored, and a bit curious about names and style or skill level, myself, so I went through my pokertracker data and looked up the players with dog names and tallied them up. I have just under 40%...

Re: QT hand: when do I bet?

I think B Dids is right, bet the flop.

What if you held K /images/graemlins/spade.gif 2 /images/graemlins/spade.gif and this flop came? Would you bet then? What if you held AQ? I don't see much...

Result and thoughts

Thanks much for the replies. Well, rightly or wrongly, this is why I played it the way I did:

On the flop, I just called because, frankly, I couldn't think of anything better to do. UTG didn't...

I found your description of the BB to mean pretty much nothing. What the heck are pretty cards?

Re: QTs with QKK board against a LAG

Did you read my description of BB? I was pretty damn sure I was ahead of him the whole way. My only question was where to raise to get the most from him and UTG also.

QTs with QKK board against a LAG

What do you think of this? I played it a bit differently than I normally would.

UTG seems pretty passive, BB likes to cap preflop with cards he thinks are pretty and will bet/raise with any piece...
